Meet the KERB Team - Ben Espina

Harriet Harvey12th August 2019

At KERB, we thought that it was essential for you to get to know some of our staff! We kick it off today by asking our Customer Success Manager, Ben Espina, a few questions about work, what inspires him and what he thinks about parking.

Why did you get into parking?

Traffic in Manila is ridiculous. I was done spending so much time on the road getting to work each morning. That’s when I decided to look for a job that allowed me to stay home and get paid. I saw a couple of job postings online and Kerb was pretty cool. So, I scheduled for a job interview and got hired.

What do you think the parking industry could do better?

Make parking more affordable.

Do you think parking will die out with the invention of autonomous cars?

No. I don’t think so. They will still need somewhere to park.

When you imagine the future, how do you think people will get around?

I’d like to think that cars will be replaced by Pods. Isn’t that cool?

Why did you want to work for Kerb?

Kerb is like my second family. I learn a lot about the parking industry, sales and marketing.

Where did you work before Kerb?

I was working at a software company called TradeGecko as a Business Development Specialist, before joining Kerb.

Where and what did you study?

I went to a local University called Wesleyan and I studied Hotel and Restaurant Management.

What do you do to unwind?

When I’m not working, you’ll see me at the gym. I also love watching TV shows that make me laugh.

What frustrates you the most?

Slow internet connections and paying bills - they come every month!

What/who inspires you?

People who are passionate about what they do and sometimes bills, because, you know, they come every month and you have to pay them somehow.

Your favourite app, other than Kerb?

Facebook Marketplace.

What’s your blog of choice?

Local politics.

What did you most recently buy online?

I bought a Samsung phone on sale for work.

What was the last book you read?

I don’t read books, but I love gossip magazines and websites.

What’s a pet hate you have about life online?

People who use Facebook for advice about their life problems.
