I&M M-Pesa Prepay Safari Card

This Visa pre-paid card in Kenyan Shillings is loadable directly from M-Pesa and perfect for online shopping in Kenya. You simply pre-load the card with up to KES 500,000 and you can shop in-store and online.

How do I start using a I&M M-Pesa Prepay Safari Card?

It is so easy to get a I&M M-Pesa Prepay Safari Card, you simply need to be 18 years or older and you do not need an I&M bank account to get one.

  1. Complete the application form, print and sign.
  2. Produce the application form along with a copy and the original National ID or Passport, copy of you KRA PIN and recent passport photo at any I&M Bank branch.
  3. New applicants will be required to indicate on the form, the purpose for which the prepaid card is required and indicate intended use and frequency.
  4. Pay the initial load fee of KES 750.
  5. You will get a Welcome Kit containing a ready to use M-PESA PrePay Safari Card and Sealed PIN Cover containing the ATM PIN. Your I-PIN which will enable you to access card account information online via imbank.com on the Prepaid Card login section will be generated and sent to your email address.
  6. You can then start using your card immediately.

How do I load money to my I&M M-Pesa Prepay Safari Card?

There are three easy ways to reload your card. See below!

I&M Branch

You can reload your card at any I&M Branch. If you would like to load more than KES 1,000,000, you will need to provide a declaration of the source of the funds.

M-Pesa Paybill

  1. Go to M-Pesa Menu, Lipa na M-PESA.
  2. Select Pay Bill.
  3. Enter the business number (541541).
  4. Enter Account Number (your 16-digit card number).
  5. Enter Amount.
  6. Enter your M-Pesa PIN to complete the transaction.

M-Pesa Xpress

  1. Visit the Top-up Prepaid Card website.
  2. Enter the full 16-digit credit card number and amount to pay.
  3. Enter your phone number.
  4. You will then receive a pop up on your phone requesting you to enter your M-Pesa PIN to complete the transaction (make sure your mobile device screen is unlocked).

How do I use my I&M M-Pesa Prepay Safari Card with KERB?

Now this is the really easy part.

  1. Locate your parking space.
  2. Select the days you would like to book.
  3. Enter the 16-digit I&M M-Pesa Prepay Safari card number.
  4. Enter the expiry date.
  5. Enter the CVV (the last 3 digits found at the signature panel of your card).

Are there any additional charges?

Reload Fee: KES 40

Card Replacement Fee: KES 250

Cash Withdrawal: KES 30 - 250

  3. Enter the 16-digit card number.
  4. Enter the expiry date on the front of your card.
  5. Enter the CVV (the last 3 digits found at the signature panel of your card).
